Welcome back, kiddies. Today as promised we’re going to be talking about Lenore. Some of you may be saying "Hey! Why is he talking about Lenore? Lenore is not a horror comic!” To which I reply, "Hey! Why not calm the hell down? First of all the horror comic genre is too restrictive. And second of all, dark humor fits. And third of all, I like it and it’s my blog. So stop hollering at me!" Well now all those creepy little dead girl looking things in the window at Hot Topic make a little more sense. This book was completely not what I was expecting from a character based off the Edgar Allen Poe poem, “Lenore”. (read more)



I’ve been a big fan of illustrator Roman Dirge’s work since I first spotted his comic, Lenore, on the shelves of Sydney’s Kings Comics in 1996. (read more)



Why I like it: This month Titan publishes the first Lenore comic in more than two years. Honestly, this was the first time I'd read it, even though I'd seen devoted fans at comics conventions for years. And now I can understand why, because Lenore is everything you like about Emily the Strange and other pop-culture goths, only 20 times funnier. (read more)
